450th Anniversary Events

A wide and varied programme of events have been held during 2017 to celebrate Rugby School's 450th Anniversary. This Anniversary has provided a wonderful opportunity to reinforce Rugby’s position as a leader in academic excellence and our 2017 events have engaged the interest and support of all Rugbeians, staff, the local community and parents, worldwide. These special events have taken place in addition to the regular programme of annual events organised by the School, the Rugbeian Society and the Arnold Foundation.

Throughout the year, we devised a programme of activities that highlight the most important characteristics of Rugby School. Our founder Lawrence Sheriff was celebrated through the Rugby Estate Day in London; our global reach was demonstrated through our Film Premiere and 450th Gala Ball; our sporting heritage was recognised through the International Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament, Girls Hockey Festival and Rugbeian Society Sports day; our commitment to the community was projected through a Community Day and our Christian faith will be reflected through our Thanksgiving Celebration on November 26th.  For a full timeline of all the 2017 activities, download our wall planner.
