Global Event Day: Film Première and 450th Gala Ball

450th Anniversary Film Première and Gala Ball

The 450th Film Premiere and Gala Ball on June 24 was a wonderful occasion bringing all facets of the Rugbeian community together – Rugbeians, parents, staff and suppliers to the School. Through a series of colourful interviews with Rugbeians ranging from Lord King and Anthony Horowitz to Anne Naylor and Heather Smith, the film vividly brings to life how and why ‘whole person, whole point’  has been at the centre of Rugby’s education ethos for so long. Together with the 450th Overture played by the Concert Band and the 450th Anthem sung by the School Choir, the film runs just under 30 minutes and can be viewed by scrolling to the bottom of this page and pressing play.

After drinks on the Close and a performance by the School’s Corps of Drums, guests made their way into the magical setting of the ‘Grand Marquee’ for an excellent dinner followed by dancing to the JG Collective Band and Joffins disco. As guests left in the early hours after a wonderful celebration event, the School and Chapel facades looked magnificent. The photo gallery from the evening can be viewed below.
