ENTRY TO TOWN HOUSE (BOYS) AND SOUTHFIELD (GIRLS) IN 2022

If your child’s school finishes at age 11 and you live within 10 miles of Rugby School, we will consider an application from you, for one of our two Day Houses, for a place to start in Year 9.

This is however only for children eligible for our Continuation Award.

The Continuation Award is made in partnership with Bilton Grange or Spratton Hall, who will offer funded places during Year 7 and 8 continuing to Rugby School in Year 9 if Common Entrance is passed well at the end of Year 8.

Stage 1

Applicants sit three academic tests and are interviewed in the January/February of Year 6 as follows:

• 45-minute 11+ verbal reasoning paper

• 15-minute free writing exercise

• 60-minute maths paper (National Curriculum Key Stage 2: Year 6)

• Interview

In addition, we will ask applicants to complete a short interview questionnaire and request a reference from their current school.

Stage 2

Parents should apply for means-tested bursary support towards fees using the Confidential Statement of Financial Circumstances form, which must be completed and submitted by the closing date for applications. Forms are available from the Bursary via email at funding@rugbyschool.net or call 01788 556260.

If your child has performed well in the assessment and you are eligible for significant means-tested bursary support towards fees we will invite you to apply for a Continuation Award.

Continuation Award applicants may also be preauditioned for a Music Scholarship if ability is around the Grade 4 standard, although we are looking for potential at this stage.

Applicants are also welcome to apply for Scholarships in Drama, Sport, Academic, Art, Design & Technology and Computing. Formal assessments for all Scholarships take place in Year 8.
