Welcome to The Arnold Foundation

A very warm welcome to the The Arnold Foundation admissions page.

The Arnold Foundation is a programme unique to Rugby School set up to provide free boarding places to talented children. Our aim is simple - we want to send children from every part of society out to the best universities and then out into a world in which they are outstanding.

Every girl and boy, from whatever life background is welcome to apply for a place at Rugby School, if we can see a determination in them to make the most of their existing talent with the need for a boarding place.

If the talent is there but the means are not, the Arnold Foundation exists to make a boarding education at Rugby School possible.

We accept applications from individuals or from partner organisations. The entry dates for 13+ and 16+ 2021 follow, but please contact Rebecca Witcomb on 01788 556267 or email RW2@rugbyschool.net  after this closing date, or if you are interested in 2022 entry.

She will be able to help answer any questions you may have.

FOR ENTRY TO YEAR 9 IN 2021
We encourage partner organisations to identify potential candidates as soon as possible. They should aim for parents of candidates to complete our Preliminary Information form and a Registration Form by Monday 7 September 2020. Potential candidates should arrange a virtual visit to Rugby School as soon as possible during the summer or autumn term and certainly before Friday 16 October 2020.

Candidates will be invited to return to Rugby School to sit our Entrance tests in English and Mathematics and to meet for an informal chat with a member of the Arnold Foundation interview panel.  The entrance tests should be taken by Saturday 7 November 2020 at the latest.

Candidates whose applications are being taken forward will be invited for a final, formal interview on Saturday 16 January 2021.

Parents of short-listed candidates will need to complete a Confidential Statement of Financial circumstances form and return it to the Bursary before the final interviews take place.
