Arnold Foundation Lunch

On Thursday 30 June our Arnold Foundation Lunch was held in the Collingwood Centre at Rugby School.  Donors enjoyed drinks in the sunshine and were joined by the Head Master, Arnold Foundation tutors and current and former Arnold Foundation pupils.

Speaking before lunch, Barry O’Brien, Chairman of the Arnold Foundation Board welcomed guests and thanked them for their continued involvement while the Head Master drew attention to the ways in which the Arnold Foundation enriches the whole School.

Two of our current pupils told those gathered about how the Arnold Foundation is helping them to achieve their goals and outlined their aspirations for the future.  They were followed to the lectern by Kevin Phekenan (W 08-13), a former Arnold Foundation pupil who has just been awarded a 2:1 at University of Kent in Law and Economics and will embark on a Master’s in Business Management later this year.  He spoke passionately about the transformational experience of both the Foundation and the School changing his life for the better. He concluded, “It made me believe in myself and gave me the platform to allow that belief to flourish.”
