In 1567 Lawrence Sheriff took the first steps towards doing something remarkable. He left a bequest in his Will to found a school to educate the boys of Rugby and Brownsover.
That is how Rugby School began. With a gift of £50 and an orchard in Bloomsbury.
Over 450 years later, Lawrence Sheriff’s legacy continues to make a difference to thousands of lives.
We are asking all Rugbeians and friends to make a pledge to include Rugby School or the Arnold Foundation for Rugby School in their Wills.
Every gift, of whatever size, will ensure that future generations of talented children – who only lack the means – can benefit from a Rugby School education.
Unless otherwise specified, all legacy gifts to Rugby School or the Arnold Foundation for Rugby School, are placed within the endowment fund with income used to support Arnold Foundation students at the School.
Join us as we make our way round The Close and together we can create our own Rugbeian Legacy worthy of Lawrence Sheriff's founding bequest.
