U9s Rugby Club Festival
Give your team the chance to play on the birthplace of the game, The Close, which for 2023 will be a new high-quality natural sand-based pitch.
The festival will take place on Good Friday, 7th April 2023, on The Close at Rugby School.
Spectators are encouraged to come and enjoy a day of matches; there will be a festival feel on The Close with food and beverages on sale. Entry free of charge, please register for your tickets here:
The day will be to raise awareness of two fantastic charities and teams will be encouraged to raise funds:
- Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby. With the help of you, the rugby family, they fund life-changing projects across the UK & Ireland that support vulnerable children and young people.
- Our own 1823 bursary fund which is in honour of Webb Ellis who was a bursary student. The bursary will be used to fund a means tested place(s) for child(ren), showing a talent for rugby football, to be educated at Rugby School.
Matches will be mixed, boys & girls, 7-a-side, with a maximum squad of 12 players being allowed; all players should play at least 50% game time.
A total of 16 teams will be accepted, creating 4 pools of 4.
