Rugby’s greatest Head Master, Dr Thomas Arnold, knew that education is all about transforming lives. As he himself put it, ‘First, religious and moral principle; second, gentlemanly conduct; third, academic ability.’ Rugby has since sought to hold onto the conviction that education is much more than the sum of academic results: it is about forming character.
Attending Rugby School can be a life-changing experience
Through the Arnold Foundation we are able to offer this opportunity to motivated young people from some of this country's most deprived communities who will benefit from a boarding education.
The Rugbeian Society is here to support and provide interesting and exciting activities for Rugbeians. We organise a wide range of events which include House Dinners, Business Forums, Theatre trips and sporting activities. On the website you can find out about these and access news covering the Society's activities, both past events, most of which have supporting photos, and future events which we would be delighted if you can attend.
The Hong Kong Friends of Rugby School offers activities for Rugbeians, parents and friends of the School living in Hong Kong, which enable us to get to know each other.
The Hong Kong Friends of Rugby School also raises funds to support bursaries for boarding pupils coming to Rugby School from Hong Kong.
The American Friends of Rugby School offers activities for Rugbeians, parents and friends of the School living in the United States, giving us a chance to know each other as community, sharing a common bond and experience that is distinctive, especially in America.
