Dean House will forever have a significant history within Rugby School as the first girl’s house on campus. With spacious bedrooms, wide corridors, beautiful gardens and art deco details Dean is home to 51 girls aged 13-18. Year groups of 10-11 girls enjoy large shared study-bedrooms in the first two years followed by single study bedrooms for the remainder of their time in Dean. Four Common Rooms provide space for relaxing with friends along with four separate kitchen facilities for each year group. Ideally situated Dean is a short distance to the Chapel, town centre and the Macready Theatre with fitness facilities being within a five minute walk. Our emblem is the Heron and our colours are purple and green. In essence, the culture of Dean can be described as warm, inviting, and a real home away from home, where we seek to nurture a positive boarding experience with a focus on academic excellence, healthy living, and involvement in School-wide activities. Our girls are independent learners who are talented, friendly, goal oriented achievers and it is our job to nurture, support, and encourage them to thrive in the wider School community and beyond
