The tutors have up to ten boys or girls as tutees. Tutors are responsible not only for overseeing academic progress and extra-curricular involvement, but also the tutees’ welfare. To this end all tutors have a duty night (or special extended times in Day Houses). The duty time is in addition to coming in for lunch, dealing with reports and other meetings. The duty time gives ample time to catch up with their charges. Each House also has a PSHE tutor who spends time with the Lower School year groups (up to G.C.S.E.) Discussion may centre around ‘interactive and social issues’ initially and later extends to drink, drugs and relationships.

The Rugby School community will physically re-unite in September. We are proud of our staff and students who have engaged in a full, virtual timetable enabling us all to flourish during this challenging time. Plans for a safe return of the whole School community will involve comprehensive risk assessments and a commitment to the BSA COVID-SAFE Charter. Find out more about our bespoke virtual visits and Open Days here
