Registrations for 2026 are now closed. For a 2027 boarding place entry please contact Michelle Humphrey (mh2@rugbyschool.net) who will be able to advise you of the next assessment opportunity. Please do share any supporting documentation such as recent school reports, academic data, assessment scores and exam results.

13+ Boarding

Registered candidates are invited to attend our assessment days in the Advent Term of either Year 6 or Year 7. Please find more details here for the Year 6 assessment.

Year 7 candidates will spend the morning or the afternoon here. During this time, they will take part in:

  • Interview with Housemaster/Housemistress (Pastoral focus)
  • Interview with a Moderator (Academic focus)
  • Collaborative (and enjoyable) group activity
  • Tour of the House
  • Lunch for candidates with current students
  • Refreshments for parents during conversations with Hm and House staff

International Applicants

Rugby School welcomes applications from candidates who live overseas.  We ask that applicants from overseas should provide us with a UKiset report as soon as possible during the application process and certainly before the closing date for applications. Please visit: www.ukiset.com

13+ Day

Registered candidates who are at a prep or primary school are invited to our 13+ Day assessment sessions in the Advent Term of Year 6please click here for details.

Registered candidates who are at a local secondary school, independent or grammar school, who study the National Curriculum, are invited to our 13+ Day assessment sessions in the Lent Term of Year 8.

Registered candidates who are at a Prep school can make a late enquiry for a potential place in Year 9. Entry would only be possible through a Foundation or Scholarship application, which takes place during Year 8.

Candidates will spend the morning, or the afternoon here. During this time, they will take part in:

  • Interview with Housemaster/Housemistress (Pastoral focus)
  • Interview with a Moderator (Academic focus)
  • Refreshments for parents
  • Candidates who study the National Curriculum will also be required to sit tests in English, Maths, Science & a VRT test.
