Year 6 Assessments

New from 2024 and due to high demand, children in Year 6 can now apply for a 13+ Boarding or a Day place to Rugby School for September 2028 and beyond. We ask that parents who are hoping to apply for bursary support in the form of a Foundation Award or the Arnold Foundation, delay their application until the Year 7 assessments for Boarding and the Year 8 assessments for Day.

The Assessment date will be on Thursday 26 November 2026 for Day and Boarding applicants.  An enjoyable and fun day, it will also be challenging at an age-appropriate level for children in Year 6 with some tests, a short interview and collaborative activities. Subsequently, offers will be made for Boarding and Day places, subject to our normal entry requirements.

Children with successful Boarding offers will be invited back during the Advent Term of Year 7 for House interviews.

We will continue to offer the Year 7 pathway into Rugby School for Boarding applicants, and we are always open to meet families whose situation means that they are applying late in the cycle. We are mindful that children mature at different rates.
