About the House
Tudor was opened in 1893 and became a girls’ house in 2002. Centrally located in Horton Crescent and close to the Sports facilities, Modern Languages and the other boarding houses.
There is plenty of space in Tudor – the girls have common rooms to share, the central part of the House is a general gathering area, the oak-panelled dining room has great character and the extensive garden with beautiful Victorian glasshouse is enjoyed by us all.
Our resident staff and tutor team strive to make Tudor a happy House where the girls will work hard, enjoy the life of the School and thrive.
Charlie Benn, Housemistress
Charlie Benn joined Rugby School in 2025 after a twelve-year tenure at Spratton Hall, where she was Head of Pastoral Care, Designated Safeguarding Lead and Head of Learning Support. Her teaching career has always centred on pastoral care and supporting students with special educational needs. Prior to her time at Spratton, she held senior pastoral roles and Deputy Headships in both the East Midlands and London.
Charlie lives with her husband and they have two children. The family also share their home with their cat, who is always happy to receive attention and a cuddle. Together, they enjoy skiing, sailing and holidays by the sea. In her spare time, Charlie enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
