Rugby School student, Izzy, selected for National Youth Orchestra

Congratulations to current Rugby School student and music scholar, Izzy, who has been awarded a place in the prestigious National Youth Orchestra (NYO).

The NYO, founded in 1948 by Dame Ruth Railton, consist of 160 teenage musicians and is the UK’s leading youth orchestral organisation. It brings together young people from across the UK to perform at a high level, develop their skill and participate in projects, workshops and tours.

Izzy shares, ‘I am thrilled to be playing viola in the National Youth Orchestra this year! I am looking forward to playing in amazing venues including the Barbican, Warwick Arts Centre, Birmingham Symphony Hall and especially the Royal Albert Hall in summer as part of the BBC Proms.’

Congratulations to Izzy on her achievement and we look forward to seeing her performances throughout the year.
