Rugby School’s Eco-Schools Green Flag Award upgraded to distinction

Rugby School is delighted to announce that our Eco-Schools Green Flag status has been renewed and upgraded to Distinction!

Eco-Schools praised the impact of this year’s sustainability initiatives, noting that “your second-hand clothing and textbook swaps have been a standout success… promoting reuse, reducing waste, and supporting families within the School community.”

India, this year’s Sustainability Levee, led the application by researching school-wide initiatives, consulting experts and visiting Houses. Reflecting on the process, she said:

“Applying for the award was a fun and rewarding process. I enjoyed working with members of the School community to learn more about how the School runs and how this contributes to our overall sustainability. It’s great that all our efforts have now been recognised, and I’m excited to see how much more progress we can make.”

Eco-Schools also highlighted the value of the IB Environmental Systems and Societies course, which allows sixth form students to explore critical environmental themes and examine the relationship between humans and the natural world through interdisciplinary study.

A huge well done to India and to Mr Brown, who oversees the sustainability and charity levee, for achieving this fantastic recognition.
