Our Rugby and Hockey Guest Matches bring together distinguished alumni, parents, staff and invited guests for a celebration of sport and community. These competitive yet friendly fixtures honour Rugby School’s rich sporting heritage while strengthening connections across generations of the Rugby family.

A cherished festive tradition, House Christmas Lunches bring pupils and staff together to celebrate the end of term. Filled with seasonal food, entertainment and house spirit, these gatherings strengthen friendships and foster the sense of community that lies at the heart of Rugby School life.

The annual Christmas celebrations, including the traditional Carol Service in Rugby School Chapel, are among the highlights of the School calendar. Bringing together pupils, parents, staff and alumni, these events celebrate community, reflection and the enduring traditions of Rugby School. 

Tuesday 9 February - Thursday 11 February 2027

The Whole School Production is a highlight of the cultural calendar, bringing together pupils from across the School to create an ambitious theatrical performance. Showcasing talent in acting, music, dance and technical production, it celebrates creativity, collaboration and the vibrant performing arts culture at Rugby School.

The Careers Convention connects pupils with professionals, alumni and industry leaders from a wide range of sectors. Through talks, networking and interactive sessions, pupils gain valuable insights into career pathways, helping them make informed decisions about their future education and professional aspirations.

The Crick and Barby Runs are long-standing Rugby School traditions that challenge pupils to test their endurance, determination and resilience. Taking place across the Warwickshire countryside, these iconic runs foster camaraderie, personal achievement and a shared sense of accomplishment, making them a memorable part of Rugby life. 

Saturday 26 June - Wednesday 30 June 2027

Each summer, Rugby School hosts the acclaimed The Festival on The Close, a vibrant celebration of arts, culture and community. Set against the backdrop of the School’s historic grounds, the festival brings together internationally renowned performers, musicians, comedians and artists, while providing opportunities for local schools and young people to engage in workshops and creative experiences. Since its launch in 2017, it has become one of the region’s most anticipated cultural events. 
 

Friday 2 July 2027

Sports Day is one of the most anticipated events of the year, bringing the entire School together for a celebration of athletic achievement, teamwork and house spirit. With pupils competing across a range of track and field events, the day showcases determination, resilience and friendly competition in a vibrant community atmosphere.

One of the most important occasions in the academic year, Prize Giving and Speech Day celebrates pupil achievement across academics, sport, the arts and service. The event recognises excellence while marking key milestones in the lives of our pupils and the wider School community.

Leavers’ Celebrations mark the culmination of each pupil’s Rugby School journey.
