Current student, Maggie, presents at Young Researcher’s Workshop

Over the half-term break, current Rugby School student Maggie attended the Young Researcher’s Workshop at the 23rd International Conference on Cultural Economics in Rotterdam.

At the event, Maggie took part in multiple sessions featuring presenters ranging from undergraduate to PhD level. Reflecting on the experience, she said, “seeing such a range of work was genuinely inspiring.

Maggie also presented her own paper, ‘Youth Attitudes Towards AI in the Creative Industries’ to her peers. She explained, “I presented my paper for which I interviewed around 100 students aged 13–18 about their views and knowledge of AI in creative marketing, art, film, music, and game design. My favourite part was delving deeper into a topic I’m passionate about and discovering how others responded to the questions I asked. The feedback I received after my presentation has already helped me develop my research skills and think about my path after school. Overall, the experience showed me how enjoyable independent research can be, and I’d love to support more student-led research at school.”

Congratulations to Maggie on this outstanding achievement!
