Dr Eleanor Janega visits Rugby School’s 8th academic conference

Rugby School welcomed Dr Eleanor Janega to the 8th Annual D Block Academic Conference.

Dr Janega, a medieval historian and co-host of the podcast We’re Not So Different, delivered a fascinating keynote address on the connections between ancient and medieval ideas about gender.

This year’s conference explored the theme of ‘connections’. Students from Rugby School, Holly Lodge, and Avon Valley presented their research in seminar groups and also heard inspiring keynote talks from Sam Alberti, current Rugby School student Thatcher, and Dr Janega.

The day was filled with engaging discussions and impressive student work, all highlighting the many ways we can find connections across history, ideas, and concepts.
