Rugby School Students Attend Springboard Event at Westminster
Last term, students from Rugby School and Bilton Grange, recruited in partnership with Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation, attended an event at Church House, Westminster, hosted by HRH The Princess Royal, Patron of that organisation. Our students were delighted to meet Her Royal Highness during the event. The gathering brought together pupils from Springboard’s partner schools, sector leaders, and government representatives, including Minister Josh MacAlister MP.
The afternoon highlighted the transformative impact of partnerships and bursaries in shaping outcomes for young people with care experience and those facing barriers to opportunity. Rugby is proud to play its part in this national network of organisations committed to widening access to the opportunities available in state boarding and independent schools.
Springboard – now our preeminent partner in this work – operates alongside other valued organisations such as EYLA, IntoUniversity and the Hope Opportunity Trust. Rugby School’s Head Master, Gareth Parker-Jones, serves on the Advisory Board, and we host annual assessment days here at the School, supporting applicants at 11+, 13+, 16+, and including care-experienced vulnerable children.
