Rugby School Students Perform at Nottingham Playhouse for National Theatre Festival
Last week, Rugby School students and the talented young people of Rugby Connected Youth Theatre delivered a brilliant performance of Mia and the Fish at Nottingham Playhouse, as part of the National Theatre’s Connections Festival.
A powerful and imaginative production, Mia and the Fish reinterprets the ancient Indian myth of Manu and the Fish. The play centres on Mia, a young refugee girl who discovers a talking fish, Samaki, during a sweltering heatwave and climate crisis. As the story unfolds, the fish becomes her confidante, eventually growing into a giant creature that may hold the key to her community’s survival in the face of extinction.
The project forms part of our community outreach and is a collaboration with Rugby Free Secondary School.
Congratulations to all involved!
