Theory of Knowledge: LXX IB Students Showcase Object-Based TOK Exhibition

This week, the LXX IB students presented some fascinating object-based work in a TOK Exhibition. As part of the Theory of Knowledge course, each student must present three objects alongside written commentaries, using them to illuminate a chosen prompt – a question about knowledge.

On Tuesday, the IB students discussed their work with peers and with those planning to take IB next year. On Wednesday, the exhibition became the venue for the teaching staff’s mid-morning coffee break. With TOK encouraging conversations that cross subject boundaries, the event was a dynamic exploration of ideas, issues, and perspectives.

The objects on display ranged from a piece of the Berlin Wall and a wooden pestle commonly found in Nigerian households to a postcard of the Behistun Rock, a whale’s tooth, the 1859 Riemann hypothesis, and a violin.
