Whitelaw hosts inaugural Mother-Son Dinner
On Saturday evening, Whitelaw House, one of the 15 boarding houses at Rugby School, hosted its inaugural Mother–Son Dinner, at which students invited mothers, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, and female members of staff who have had an impact on their lives.
Ashley Ellis, Housemaster, said, “It was a chance for the boys to show how grateful they are for the support they have received throughout their lives, and it also ties in nicely with our year celebrating 50 Years of Girls at Rugby School. A moving evening, with wonderful company, outstanding food, and lots of memories.”
Head of House, Zach, continued, “It was such a special evening for all of the boys. The atmosphere was lovely, and it meant so much that we could share this unforgettable dinner with our mothers and loved ones.”
The event included a meal, performances, and socialising in the House, giving loved ones the chance to visit and spend time in the place the boys call their home away from home.
Felicity Reeve, Whitelaw parent, said the event had “beautiful decorations, delicious drinks and supper, great company and some laughs – even a present and card from each boy – perfect!”
It was a delightful evening and a wonderful way for the students to celebrate the women who support them.
