Head of Classics, Barnaby Chesterton, features in School House Magazine

Rugby School’s Head of Classics, Dr Barnaby Chesterton, was recently featured in School House magazine as part of a panel of experts discussing the growing relevance of studying Classics at senior school level.

He highlighted the value of classical languages in developing research skills and supporting careers in fields such as science and noted that subjects like Latin and Greek at GCSE provide a rare chance to build strong academic skills and foundations.

Dr Chesterton also stressed that it is never too early, or late, to develop an interest in Classics, encouraging students to immerse themselves in the subject and, above all, enjoy the learning journey.
